There is an update out for Mail.

About Mail Update

This update addresses stability issues with Mail.

After updating to Mac OS X 10.5.6, Mail may unexpectedly quit. This can be caused by using a copy of Mail that wasn't updated properly (you may need to install the Mail Update).

I didn't check Mail's version number before updating, but after the update its at 3.5 . Is that the same as it was before the update? just wondering....

Interesting... not in the Software Update... only as an independent download

On an "as needed" basis I guess

i didn't download this update but i have 3.5 too....? what's the deal? i bet thats what you have MacDawg, and you didn't download anything either right?

so this is a patch of some sort. software update doesn't catch this i presume? it must be manually downloaded from the linked page above?

Apparently this was a patch for those who had corrupted installs of 10.5.6 and only will show up in Software Update if your Mail.app still shows a version number earlier than 3.5 (930.3)

It was to address a problem where Mail unexpectedly quits. If you're not experiencing that and your version number is up to date you don't need the update.
