I was just sending some late night emails to a friend, and I noticed some odd date stamping in Mail. It lists my first email as Aug 19, 2552 BE, 23:10. This uses the Thai solar calendar.

But the reply from my friend was dated 19 Aug 2009, 22:20.

There are several problems:
  • My reply to the reply is fine timewise - it's marked 22:24, when I set it. So why is my first almost an hour out?
  • 2552 BE is from the Thai solar calendar, meaning Buddhist Era. I know Steve Jobs has some Buddhist tendencies, but this?
  • Minor one - why are the two dates formatted differently?

If it's any help, both the addresses are on Gmail, and I'm using Snow Leopard 10A421a.

Any thoughts? It's not a problem, I just wondered.
