Using Gmail, I find that under Mavericks I get the audible warning but not the badge on the Mail icon in the dock. Anyone else? And, if so, has anyone come up with a fix?
 
Make sure you have it turned on: Preferences/Notifications/mail, 2nd from the bottom check box...

Yes, I found that and it looks just like yours. Badges still not appearing, however.
