Mail weirdness with Gmail account

For some reason, the Mail app is showing only the newest two messages in my Gmail inbox. The other 500 messages that are in the inbox (according to iOS mail app, and the Gmail website) are being shown in Archive instead. I can't see a setting that would be causing this, or think of a good reason why anyone would want it to do this anyway, so I'm assuming it's a bug. Anyone else having issues?

I don't have your problem but for me when new messages arrive the appear for a second then disappear. The message is still in my gmail but won't appear in mail app...

EDIT: It actually appears that my message is going in to an archive for some reason...
