Any assistance with the following would be much appreciated.

Over a year ago, a folder in my Apple Mail became problematic. I was editing the name, something happened (did not understand it at the time, still do not), and the folder suddenly was named " - yes, just a single quotation mark.

Since then, I have tried on numerous occasions to rename the folder, to anything remotely usable, and nothing doing. I consistently get the following advisement from Mail:

"The IMAP command "RENAME" (to [proposed new name]) failed with a server error: Rename Failed, possible duplicate folder.

This error message occurs regardless of what proposed name I try to give the folder, and - for clarity - I am not trying to give it a name that already exists despite what the error message states.

I would be equally happy just to delete the folder. But when I try to do so, I get the following error message:

"The mailbox """" could not be deleted. The IMAP command "DELETE" failed with server error: delete Failed."

This is not a crucial problem, but frankly since it has persisted for so long I would like to be rid of the folder for once and for all. I just have no idea how to accomplish it.

Help, please?

Thanks.
