Mail will not restart?

Mail suddenly quit on me an hour ago, and will not restart. I keep getting a pop up message telling me that Mail quit unexpectedly, and when I click on Restart, it keeps sending me that same message over and over. My OSX is up to date on my iMac. Any suggestions?

Go through both the rebuild and repair steps here. This will not erase your Mail messages.

Thanks for the info. However, before I read your response, I used Time Machine to revert my iMac to 24 hours prior to my Mail problem. All is good again. Your site has great info, I bookmarked it in case I need it in the future.
