mail won't send group address

I am using a iMac with Lion. I have done this many times with no problem, but yesterday was different. I can not send email to a group in my address book. Nothing has changed in the address book, etc. I sent one to group and about an hour later wanted to send another one. It will not send. I have checked connections, etc. and all appear normal. I have also delete and re-installed my mail account. It is using hotmail or outlook whichever MSN is using now. Any help please. I hate having to disconnect and carry the puter to an Apple store. Thanks
