I have had this problem for a long time and can't find an answer... When I send a JPEG in Apple Mail 9.2 the receiver (doesn't matter who) receives a little thumbnail. That's it! I've have looked and read everything I can... Anyone know how to fix this?

OS X El Capitan
Version 10.11.2

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
Processor 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

I am running a much older version of Mail, but hopefully they have not changed this. Start a new e-mail (to anyone) and drag a photo into it. In the header of the window, just below the subject line, there should be an "Image Size" dropdown menu on the right. Choose "Actual Size" from that menu. This setting should then remain the same unless you manually change it again.

I never understood why they didn't offer a menu option for this in the preferences...

I'm using Mac mail 9.2 and it works as expected. How are you including the image in the message? Using the paper clip icon at the top right of the compose window? Drag and drop the image into the message? How about other image formats besides .jpg?
