HI,

Is there any way to bypass the downloads folder when downloading attachments from mail?
I find it really annoying that attachments automatically get saved in the downloads folder. I'd like to get an option of where to save the attachment so I can put it where I want straight away.
I've been seaching prefs and sys prefs to no avail.
Any help much appreciated.

Regards,
Peter

I don't know about your mail.app, but mine gives me a choice where to save attachments.

I worked it out!

Thanks for your reply.
It made me investigate further as it didn't seem right....

So it seems (at least with my mail app) that if you just do a standard click on the 'save' option that it goes straight to Downloads folder. However if you click and hold on the save option a small dialogue box opens up asking to 'save all' or the attachment. Choosing either of these enables the standard Finder save window to open giving you the option save the file where you want.

Cheers

If you have multiple attachments, you can also click on the arrow on the left, which will display your attachments, allowing you save each one in a separate location.
