mailingsmaker from excel - application

Hello,

I'm looking for a specific application for a friend who teaches dance courses (salsa, bachatta, quizomba, merengue).
He has all his students information in excel spreadsheets (now the 2008, soon converted to 2011 version).

He's looking for an application that does the same as this one:
http://www.bigredconsulting.com/aboutemailmanager.htm , but that works with excel 2008,2011 and MacOSX Snowleopard.

Does anyone now of the existence of such a program? Freeware or for a reasonable price, since he teaches as a hobby and not professionally.

If it's a plugin for Firefox/Safari or mail that can do the trick it would be also ok, so long it can create it's mailinglists from an excel spreadsheet.

I'm looking high and low, but I'm an Apple newbie so it can be that I'm looking over such a program.
