Mails and folders Recovery

To speed up my macbook outlook, I followed one of the threads duplicated, but am unable to recover the mails, contacts etc., from identity. In order to resolve it, an acquaintance of mine tried recreating new identity, however he has ended up creating too many inboxes, G Mails, Draft and other folders like drafts etc., Could you kindly assist me in resolving my problem with outlook and help me in retrieving my folders.

From your question, I assume you just have the one GMail account? If so remove the entire account from Outlook in the accounts section of preferences, then add the GMail account back using Googles instructions below.
