Mails taking up too much space

I just noticed when I randomly check my free space on my 1st gen iPad mini my mails are taking up about 200MB and this is the first time it happened to me unlike before it dont really take as much space it takes right now. My mails is almost 10,000 and its almost random mails from my newsletter subs and social networks like twitter and facebook. I really cant find time deleting them so help please I'm almost running out of memory on my mini.

Can you access your mail on a computer? If so, delete from there. It's usually faster than deleting from the iPad.
