My wife's Mac crashed this morning. This evening I didn't notice anything odd except that when I opened Finder it looked different:

Left side had:
Patricia Braz...
Network
Macintosh HD
Microsoft...
------------
Desktop
PatBrazee
Documents
Movies
Music
Pictures

The right had PatBrazee with Desktop, Documents, Library, Public, Movies, Music, Pictures, & Sites.

I clicked on Macintosh HD and dragged Applications and Library to the bottom left window. Was that correct?

If you were simply trying to add the Applications folder back into your source list, then yes, you did right.

I don't think you need the Library folder though (its not included there by default).
