Hello,

I updated to Lion 10.7.2 today from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. As many know with any OS update on any platform, there come a few surprises.

One of these surprises today was that the directory to my iMac is not appearing in Finder. That is, under "Devices", it should have "[Last Name] iMac", however, that is not the case. When I enter Time Machine, it appears. I see the main directory, which has my backup drive and "Macintosh HD" inside of it. When I am not in Time Machine, it is as if root access is non-existant.

I am curious if this is just a repercussion of Lion, if my settings are unaligned, or if there is another scenario. Finally, if this topic has already been asked and/or answered before, then I apologize and would appreciate being directed to that location.

Thanks.
