I need a new laptop for work, i work in education and am rather mobile going from class to class and my office quite frequently through the day. Besides the normal apps (mail, google apps etc) i will use photoshop and imovie on the new laptop,

I am leaning towards the MBA because of the size and weight, but not sure it will work as well.

Would an 2.2/4gb RAM/256gb SSD MBA work?

Or should i go with an lower end rMBP (2.7/8gb RAM/128gb SSD?

I dont think i can go much higher in price for a better rMBP

thanks!

At 1/2 a pound heavier and actually a smaller machine footprint wise, the differences for portability are minimal.

The retina screen is pretty much a must these days, your movies and photos will look great but more importantly as you are in education text is brilliant and worth it for that alone.

The 2015 version is now on the refurb store, it'll be as new with the same warranty options the only difference will be a plain box. See link below
