Hi All,

Got my iPhone 3G S today and being an iphone noob, what's the best method for maintaining battery life:

Let it charge down?
Keep it charging when possible?

and when charging at night, does it make a difference if I keep the phone on or better to leave it off?

And one other dumb question, upon start-up is the Apple supposed to have a line running diagonally across it?

Thanks!

I would suggest taking a look at Apple's page on lithium-ion batteries to get familiar with what they recommend. Then I would suggest doing a battery calibration (that is, one full charge cycle as described).

In short, you don't want to let it run completely dead every time you charge it, and it doesn't hurt to leave it on charge all night while on.
