major airport problems

my ibook g4
isn't recognizing my airport card

(this is the later edition ibook 1.42 and doesn't have the removable card)

i have absoultely no idea what to do.

First question, what changed.......anything? You just woke up and it stopped working? You installed/upgraded some software? Need some more details...

so i buy it off of eBay
it says no wireless card is installed

i take it to the Apple store
they try to fix it
they get it working
then the computer like dies.

they tell me to reinstall the software
i do
still doesn't work?!

if i can't get it working
what are some alternatives

Take it back to the Apple Store.

Sorry there's no way anyone can help you troubleshoot with the info you've provided, such as, "then the computer like dies."

Did you buy it off eBay band new, boxed & sealed? Or was it second hand / unboxed, used?

If the later is true in this case, you should take this as a lesson learnt with regards to buying hardware second hand on the internet that you can't test / inspect first.
