Major difference in battery life after Watch OS9 update

I thought I saw a post about this in the past, but searching didn't bring it up. Has anyone else seen a large swing in battery health after Watch OS 9 install? I went from 81% to 87%. I was planning to keep paying for Apple Care monthly until I fell below 80%, as I was close, but now that it's jumped so much, I think it would be cheaper to just cancel AC & pay for the repair when it hits 80%. Not sure if the 87% is artificially high & will fall rapidly once used (or if anyone has seen anything like that),
