major HELP with PB HD!!!

well.. i was using my 12" PB(1.33).. and all of a sudden everything kept on freezing ..

so i rebooted.. and i'll get a grey screen and nothing happens

I then booted from CD to check disk utility .. and it says my HD is not mounted .. so I click the mount button.. and nothing happens ... is my HD pooched?

can i still recover data off of it?
