major issue itunes not seeing iphone

so yesterday i synced my iphone, all was great. then i installed the iphone configuration utility and ever since then my phone wont sync to itunes. ive
completely uninstalled itunes
reinstalled itunes
uninstalled dev tools
restored my iphone on my pc using vista, worked just fine, but my mac still wont see it
got the 10.5.5 usb kext to do dfu mode to try to restore and it fails with error 1611
i was running 2.2.1 and i want to stay on 2.2.1, and im out of options, ideas anyone?

Have you tried DFU mode on the Vista PC to do a clean re-install?

well i went ahead and re formatted my mac so im in the process of setting it back up, figured it was time for spring cleaning anyway.
