I'm having major issues with my early 2007 white plastic macbook.

The macbook won't charge. I had my previous magsafe adapter switches since it at first didn't charge my macbook (same issue as now) and then smoke was coming out of the damn thing (well known issue). So, I got a new adapter and it was working fine until a couple of days ago when the green light on the adapter is barely noticeable. At first I thought it was the battery's fault (according to istat health is 22% and 593 cycles) but when I tried without the battery, still no bright green light. Which leads me to believe that there's something with the macbook itself...
So, what do you guys think? Is my macbook dying?

It can't be the adapter (switched it, not once, but twice!)

It can't be the battery (no bright green light when battery is removed)
