I have a MacBook Pro with a 10.6.6 OS that has worked great for six years. Just recently it started having significant issues starting up. The initial screen with the apple has diagonal yellow zig-zaggin lines across the entire screen. When it finally loads up the is a pattern of large colored checkers covering the page and the spinning cursor(see photos). For a while it worked to start in safe mode and then re-start, but today it won't come out of this mode and work at all. Is this fixable?

Are you unlucky enough to have a MacBook Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor? If so, your luck has probably gotten better as you may qualify for repair under this Apple Repair Extension Program.
