I've had my Mac Book Pro since the Fall of 2010. In the last year I've been having major problems with my computer not accepting a charge from the MagSafe charger. I originally had it working on a 65W charger. Then I replaced my battery earlier this year and bought a new charger.

Right out of the gate I couldn't get that one or another brand new 65W to work. I bumped up to an 80W three months ago and everything was fine until this past week. Now I can't get an amperage out of the 80W either. I've tried everything. Reset the SMC. Tried brushing the debris from the built in receiver. Nothing. I was able to fiddle with it and get a charge every now and then, but eventually it would cut off. Also, for a while my battery icon wasn't tellin me that my battery was discharging. I would find that out after either I unplugged the charger (the icon would go to the true percentage then) or my computer would run out of juice and shut down.

Right now, the light on my charger seems to be off but if I look really closely I can see a dim green glow. If I adjust it, sometimes I can get it to turn full green, but the computer just isn't recognizing it anymore. The battery continues to discharge. Even in the last week sometimes the battery would continue to discharge even while the light was orange.

Anybody have any idea what's going on? I don't think it's the battery. I've ran a diagnostic and the computer tells me that it's fine. It's gotta be a problem with one of the charging mechanisms, or possibly an error in software operations.

Tonight is the first time that I can get absolutely nothing from the charger. Even if I turn it off, the amperage of the charger seems to be nonexistent. I have about 45% battery left and all I can really so is shut the computer down and try again in the morning.

Any thoughts?
