I think i've lost my 5,000 word essay. Here's what happened. I've been doing the essay on my iMac which runs Microsoft Office 2003 for Mac and a Windows PC at university which runs the basic MS Office. I've recently got a MacBook and haven't installed MS Office on it yet and today while at university i loaded the essay up and it opened in TextEdit. I just carried on with the essay. I then saved it as the same name and the usual drop down box appeared "There is already a file name........would you like to overwrite". I hit ok. went to open it up again later on in the day and it wont open in TextEdit, MS Office or MS Office for Mac. Either its corrupted or there's something up with the format. Can someone please help me. I really cant do the essay again. Its stored on a USB stick as well.

Thanks,
Matt

What kind of error does it give you when you try to open it in text edit?

Use any application that can 'import' text into text fields & you should be able to rescue your data.

WHat do you have & best of luck.

I'M SURE WITH THE PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM WE CAN HELP HIM OUT!!!!:D
