iTunes 11.1.4 (up to date)
iPhone 5, just upgraded to latest iOS 7 (today)
iPad 2, iOS 6 (works fine, just listing this for reference)
So, I had a JB iPhone 5. Everything was fine for months. I only used Cydia for PDANet for the occasionally internet emergency needs. Nothing else.
One day, I have trouble syncing my JB iPhone 5 with iTunes 10. (This started after I assigned a new Time Machine destination, to make a tertiary backup HDD to store offsite). Nothing changed on OSX, I simple changed TimeMachine settings, and then changed back to normal. Could never resolve these issues. I finally caved-in and updated everything to latest iOS.
Followed these instructions:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3540
Including manually removing files from places like "/System/Library/Extensions", and deleting & reinstalling iTunes.
iTunes on OSX or Windows will not see my phone! My iPad shows up fine.
After scrubbing iTunes and reinstalling, I can usually get a SINGLE instance of phone recognition, but nothing after that.
Occasionally, I plug in the iPhone and it initiates a "Wireless Sync" with the iPad -- according to iTunes. HOWEVER, the iPad doesn't show this!! WTF!
So, my Mac, or my iPhone, thinks that my iPhone is an iPad. Or many other things.
Any ideas??
