I purchased a white 32gb i5 on launch day in Canada on the Rogers network...within a few hours I noticed some problems. My phone went into a continuous on/off cycle, where I'd see the little spinning, white circle in the middle of the screen, it did this for a couple minutes...I had to preform a hard reset for it to stop.
While sitting in my office, where my iP4S had at least 3-4 bars, my i5 now only gets 1-2 bars
My phone was stuck in a low brightness setting as if auto brightness was enabled, when it was actually turned off. I would attempt to open apps, press the home button, lock and unlock and the screen would not brighten up...I checked the brightness setting and it was set to about 90%...again I had to do a hard reset.
Other times the phone will power itself off and then come on again, not like the continuous cycle I mentioned above, just a one time thing every couple of hours or so.
I've tried restoring from new phone a couple times and the problems persist. Anyhow I have a Genius app. tomorrow at 11:20 to hopefully get it exchanged for a new one. (hopefully they'll have some in stock)
At this point I don't really think it's software related, rather it's a hardware problem. What do you think? Are you experiencing these same issues? Or odd different issues for that matter?
