Ok let me explain. My iMacs hard drive had a heart attack the other day and i lost everything. so now i have to somehow sync my iphone to my mac at some point, and when i do that byby to all my save data for apps. I did manage to retrieve my music and photos and the apps ( i e-mailed itunes and i was allowed to re download everything). so can i somehow make a backup without itunes and then after i sync my iphone stick it in the backup folder in itunes?

thank you :D:D:D:D:D

one question i just finished backing up and i went and looked at the tabs at the top and when i check off music or apps it says "are you sure you want to sync apps? all existing apps and there data will be erased and will be replaced with apps from this itunes library". so if i sync since i backed it up it wont delete everything? because it says it will as it still came up with this message.
