make a bootable cd from a DMG

How is this possible. I have toast and tried disk utility and it doesn't work. I have a macbook pro and am having soo much trouble. Please help!

If you mount the DMG by double-clicking and then go to Disk Utility and tell it to burn the image, it should make a CD/DVD that's identical to the DMG.

Are you sure the image inside the DMG is bootable?
