It's happened to me so many times. I have something like 4 active conversations going on in Adium, and im doing other things in other applications. I go to quit a different app by quickly pressing cmd+q, when I realize that adium is still in focus, and it quits. Then I have to scramble to relaunch it...This obviously gets really annoying.

Is there any way I could either make Adium unquittable (and I'd use force quit to get rid of it when I rarely do need to quit it), or change the 'quit' hotkey for adium alone? Or some other recommendation?

You could try binding "command + q" to something else in adium.

What I usually do when i have multiple things ope and let say close iphoto, and im kinda in a rush i cmd + tab and once it highlights over the iphoto icon, without letting go of cmd, i let go of tab and press Q.
