If you know the make and model of the optical drive in the new MacBooks, can you please post this information, along with information about what firmware the optical drive ships with? Thanks!

I was curious about this, since my new MacBook makes slightly different loading/ejecting sounds than my old MacBook.

This is what my 2.4GHz Macbook has:

i also have the matshita drive and it is quite a harsh noise. my roommate has the HL-DT-ST and his is much more quiet. i went to the apple store and some of the laptops had one and others had the different one. dont know why, but it is kind of annoying.
