So, I found an old .iso of Windows XP that I figured I'd install on my netbook (Acer Aspire One ZG5/A150), but I'm running out of ideas of how to make the USB bootable. I have used this very .iso to install XP from a USB a few years ago, so I'm absolutely positive it's working. But then I made it bootable in a Windows system...
When I have an .img/.dmg I can make it bootable by restoring it to the USB drive in Disk Utility. So I mounted the .iso, made a new image and was going to scan it for restoring to the USB - but the check can't be performed.
There is a way to make a Ubuntu .iso bootable from a USB by using Terminal, but doing the exact same steps that made my Ubuntu bootable doesn't work on the XP .iso.
Other than that, I've tried Unetbootin and even installing the Chameleon bootloader on the USB... Is it absolutely impossible to make a bootable USB from a Windows XP CD, or what am I missing?
Having a 2011 MBP, I can't use Boot Camp Assistant to make a bootable USB either. Not that I know if it would even help since BCA is meant for booting Apple computers...
