I'm really into DIY projects when my accessories just don't fit my needs. Example here: my MoleSkin iPad Mini Notebook. I made an iPhone mount here.
My Requirements:
1. Vertical viewing angle that is easy see
2. Easy to mount the iphone quickly
3. Sturdy to allow typing
4. iPhone should not slip and slide or fall from mount during driving
5. Removable mount
6. Does not obstruct any instruments or dials
What I used:
- iPhone tray from iphone box
- $5 tablet stand from five below
- matte black spray paint
- krazy glue
- exacto knife
- Rubber grips
The iPad stand is awesome..highly adjustable and sturdy. You can tighten the knobs to adjust the legs however which way you want.

Trimmed off some of the side where the dock connector would go to give it a little more room to sit with the cable plugged in.

All I did was spray paint the iphone tray matte black

Used the crazy glue gel to glue the tray to the smaller set of legs. Fits perfectly. I cut a thin slice of the rubber grips to line the bottom of the tray. This allows me to just set the phone in easily every single time.

Here is the finished product. Fits my needs nicely and lets me rest my arm on my shifter to do any typing for my gps. Also lets me use SIRI simply for all my commands. The box is still accessible and lets me put whatever I need in it to be accessible.

Just thought I would share this little DIY to inspire some creativity in people who may like a similar set up.
