I have a damaged macbook 2GHz Intel Core Duo, screen and keyboard completely buggered. To repair it would cost just as much as buying a new, don't want to spend those money.
It works fine with external mouse, keyboard and monitor, except when I want to do a clean install of Mac OS 10.5 server (for study purpose), It doesn't work.
I assume, and please correct me if I'm wrong, there must be a setting in EFI for primary and secondary display, which one's which.
Is there any way of changing it to set the external monitor as primary?

(please note that I'm not looking for a work around, I want to permanently convert my macbook to a "desktop")

cheers

If you run your MBP in clamshell mode (i.e. closed), it will use the external display as primary by default.

Dunno about firmware changes.
