I have a Hard Drive that i have been using witha pc. Now that i have convertede to mac, how can i get my files over to a mac. I ws trying to trasnfer mac files onto it, but it wouldnt work. thank you guys

Is it external HD? Just plug it in and transfer the files and then format it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with Disk Utility

Check out the various file systems here: MR Guide: File Systems

Your drive is likely formatted as NTFS and your Mac will only read it and not write to it. To write to an NTFS formatted drive you will need something like NTFS-3G or Paragon

Basic rule of thumb:

NTFS = Windows formatting, OSX will read, but you need NTFS-3G or Paragon to write
HFS+= OSX formatting, Windows will need something like MacDrive to write
FAT32 = neutral formatting, both Windows and OSX will read/write but file sizes are limited to 4GB
