So my macs HD has a 33 GB partition on it, and a 4 GB unused partition on it. How can I add on the 4 GBs to the 33 GBs through GParted?

As I understand you would have to format the hard drive as one volume to make one partition with the full amount, but you would have to backup your data before doing this, if that 4GB is really needed e.g your hard drive is almost full. Have you thought about maybe upgrading to a bigger drive.
