Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the time a Banner stays on your screen. I often miss my notification because I am typing/reading something and don't want to look away. Just when I do look away I miss the notification. Yes I know I can click the bars and get to the notification center but it happens so often for me if I could just increase the time by 5-10 seconds it would make a difference.

You can go to the Notifications panel in System Preferences and change the notification from a banner to an alert and you will get a notification that stays there until you click on it to dismiss it.

Yes I know that but now that would be adding even more clicks which is what I was trying to avoid. Just need an extra couple of seconds on the banner to solve my issue. I am really surprised this is not configurable.

Try hovering your cursor over the notification. Might stay longer.

Also check this.
