make photos square in iphoto

I need to make photos square before re-sizing them for FB. In iphoto I have gone to edit, crop, constrain, square and the white square comes up but i cannot stretch it to the size of the image. It remains a square that is smaller than the image.I can only move it up and down and make it smaller. I havent posted before.
Can someone help please.

Thank you but is it impossible in iphoto to do do what I want? Also should have said that the photos are all on my Mac and that secondly I don't have an iphone.
