Hello all,

I just installed QuickTime 7 on my system the other day because I wanted to play some old MIDI files. QuickTime X doesn't do MIDI files, so I figured I could install QT7 and just use it for MIDIs.

However after installing QT7, QT7 now plays back all media that I play from within Safari. MP3 files (for example) that I listen to in the browser come up with the old blue Aqua QuickTime logo and play with the old-style silver bar.

Is there any way to make it so that QuickTime X once again plays back my Safari audio? I tried removing the QuickTime plugin from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins but that just broke QuickTime playback altogether (files just downloaded instead of playing).

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
