I don't know if this has been talked about already, but I wish the iPad were more like the Apple TV in the way you consume content. I just bought an episode of the walking dead. I'm sitting here, waiting for it to download so I can watch it. Wouldn't it be better if I clicked on purchase, waited about 10 seconds, and then streamed it while I watched it? Why take all this time to download it?

Or better yet, do both. While it's downloading, be able to stream it as it comes in, just in case you have to watch it later without an internet connection.

Or even better yet, maybe give a choice. Buy it, and then have a choice come up that says "Stream or download locally?"

You can already do this, as soon as you click Download, the video will appear in the Video.app.

Go and press play, it will play back what it has download so far.

You can already do this, it works exactly as you described it.

Am I just being really dumb? After you purchase, I thought all you could do was go to the downloads page and watch the progress of the download until it's complete, at which point it appears in your videos app.

Where am I going wrong?

I just tried it and it works.

This of course depends on your internet connection.

At my house I have 25Mbps down and can stream almost immediately, but I've been to a friends house whom only has 1.5Mbps down and the video is constantly buffering and pausing.

This process also applies to the iPhone and iPod touch.
