This is bugging the hell out of me, its like looking at 2 different clocks!

I really don't need the computer to tell me how long I've been connected (See next to the AirPort icon)

Setup (Only temporary): AirPort Express connected straight to my DSL modem (PPPoE)

Any tips on getting rid of that timer?

Thanks

I actually would like a timer on mine. I guess it's because you're using a modem (even if it's a fast one). Try unchecking "Show modem status" in your Network preferences. Sorry I can't be more helpful as I've never had this happen to me except with a dial-up connection.

Click the Airport icon, go down to the network name, deselect "Show time while connected".
I didn't even know that was an option. I still can't find it.

You can't set the actual Airport express to do the PPPoE dialing? When I had DSL, my linksys did the PPPoE...seems kinda dumb if the express can't do it...

I guess its just because its not a full-fledged wireless router. Maybe one day a firmware upgrade can remedy it, but I guess right now it handles DHCP or acts as a wireless bridge (I don't have one yet so I can't exactly say).
