alright so I'm recieving my MVP tomorrow and want some ideas on how to make use of an old up comp. Its a pentium 3 850 MHz with a 30 gig hd. I was using it with damn small Linux and I was thinking about running it headless and using my Mbp to vnc with it. How would I do this and what to you guys think about it?

to play areound with Linux and I done have room for a monitor

Honestly, its a nice thought but you'll never find yourself using the desktop. You can accomplish the same thing (but faster) with a virtual machine running Linux on your Macbook Pro. If you insist on keeping the old box, set it up as a fileserver, firewall or some other useful little appliance.
