One Endless Loop
Ok, got a new x800 xt for my g5. After installing it I noticed something kind of lame about my g5. It blows air into the PCI bay from the front. So the fan blows from front to back but the x800 blows air from back to front. Now where is the fresh air coming from? Nowhere. The x800 blows the hot air that its been pushing out right back into the fan because the G5s PCI slot fan is blowing air right at its vent.

So, I took off the PCI slot doors on the back so air can come in, then I took the G5 pci slot fan out and turned it around and put it back in so it blows air out the front instead of in. Nice. Now the PCI bay is way cooler. This way air comes into the bay from the back (after the slot doors are removed) then sucks it into its fan and blows it out its heatsink right into the PCI Bay fan which blows it all out the front.

Just a cool tip my brothas.

FYI...you are also sucking in the hot air that's exhausted out the back from the other cooling zones. ;)
