Making a Blu-Ray on a mac?

Just got given a Blu-Ray 1080i ,movie that was made on a PC. The quality was stunning. What hardware/ software would I need to do this on a mac? Need to retire my G4 anyway and would like to be able to put my HD footage onto Blu-Ray.

Using toast and an external BR burner you can make BR data discs, but there is currently no way to author a BR disc on a Mac.

Actually, Adobe Encore CS3 supports Blu-ray. It is currently the only Blu-ray authoring software available for mac (for video discs).

Nifty. For some reason I thought Encore was PC only.

Yup, although it is one of the few CS3 apps that are Intel only for Mac. I think Soundbooth is the other one.


I always use DVDSP, so I haven't tried it yet, but there are some great features on Encore that I'm going to look into (like one-click flash webpage creation). Maybe I'll check it out tomorrow.
