A few days ago I was handed a free USB drive in the street advertising a company. When I connect it to my MacBook (or any other computer) it show's up as 2 drives: 1 which is a standard removable USB drive, and the other is for some reason showing as a CD with a Windows autorun file that leads the their website.

Is there any way I can make this drive 1 partition which I can use as a regular USB drive? I know it's not a lot of space (about 70MB) but it would be useful anyway. I have access to Windows if this is needed.

I tried disk utility but the "CD" part of it won't do anything, it say's the disk is not writable.

What about selecting the USB drive instead of the partitions?

Disk utility normally shows items in there like this

  • 250.06GB ST28372ß3
    Macintosh HD
  • USB Drive
    partition 1 - CD
    partition 2 - data

Yea, that's what I'd have expected too, but it's like this:

  • HDD
    • Macintosh HD
    • BOOTCAMP
  • USB Drive
  • CD 'USB' Drive
    • CD
