Hello Mac users,

I am using a G5 iMac, OS 10.4.11, 2 GB DDR SDRAM

A while back, when my computer was still under Applecare, a representative helped me speed the machine up by throwing some pref files (?) in the trash. I can't remember what he had me trash. I'm hoping someone here might know and could pass along the information, or perhaps share any general tips on how to make the computer run smoother and quicker.

Thanks for your help, and please excuse my severe lack of knowledge.

Excelsior!

In the preferences>Energy saver there is an option tab and in there you can switch the processor performance from auto/reduced (the default) to highest. Doing this bring the speed and performance up qiut a bit. I tested it with halo and when it was set to highest the game ran smoother and the graphics performance increased.
