Ok im wanting to start making tutorials of this program called Pro tools. and if youve never heard of it, it is the industry standard digital audio work station(its like a super beefed up version of audacity) And the way the software is that for the program to open you need two things to be plugged into your computer. 1 a supported audio interface(mic preamp with a firewire chord going into the computer), and a ilok(software license[it looks like a usb key]) but anyways the way it works with my setup is that the audio coming back out of the program goes back to my audio interface. and the problem with that is that when im making the video i cant hear whats being played back by the program. which makes it hard for me to know what im doing.

so i tried running a cable from the headphone out into my line in on my mac. well that caused a humming noise...which is embarrassing as a audio engineer.

and then on top of all of that i cant the voice over whilst i make the tutorial...

Help?

oh and here is the website for pro tools just for reference...
www.digidesign.com

i asked on thier for btw and nobody knew...
