If I make a call from my AW with Airpods, it always wants to handoff to my phone.

If no Airpods, call stays on my AW no problem.

Handoff turned Off on all my devices. I have an LTE on 4.0.1. iPhone 7 on 11.0.1

I did discover, that after the handoff, I can swipe up on AW and switch audio back to my Airpods. Not understanding why it does the handoff, when I’ve not set that option.

Fun stuff though... really like the AW3C and AP combo.

I use Siri on my watch to make a call from my AirPods, it seems to make a call from my watch, not my phone (phone is connected via Bluetooth to AW-close proximity).

Is this same scenario kind of like what OP is asking about?

When I ask Siri to make a call from my AirPods and my phone is near by, I’d like it to use my phone, not the watch.

Or am I missing something?

Quoting a post from a different thread, that I think is better discussed here.

I have the exact opposite issue, in that I do not wanted it handed off.

Whether it’s from “Hey Siri” on my Watch or from double-tapping Airpods, I have an inconsistent experience when using Siri to initiate the call... in both the handoff and... whether the handoff results in being able to control the call from my watch or not. Sometimes I get the ability to hang-up after handoff. Sometimes, I do not. So I have to use my phone to hang up the call. Or manually launch phone app on AW and it will usually detect I am on a call and give me control to hang up. Hope that made sense.

Regardless, I have the Handoff setting turned off on my phone and AW.
Maybe if you have that turned on, it may work as you desired.
