I'm trying to install an image of OS X which is around 7gb to my flash drive (capacity 16gb), and it's currently copying the files over in Disk Utility... So far the estimated time of it being done is 1 day 17 hours?

What the heck? Why is this so slow?

Some flash drives have very, very slow write speeds. This is not like a USB external hard drive at all.

Damn.

Well thanks. This is actually a replacement thumb drive that I just got after my other one was smashed. Sad.

31hr for 7GB, that's like 64KBps...something's wrong with that Flash drive!! When I write 1.4GB files to my Cruzer Micro (4GB, couple years old) they take ~6-7min each.
