Making bootable lion flash drive, no option to upgrade???

I made the bootable lion flash drive with this guide....

and when i boot from it, unless i missed something, there is no option to upgrade, here are the 4 options it gives me....
1)restore from time machine backup
2)reinstall mac osx (clean install, not upgrade from SL)
3) get help online
4) disk utility

how do i just upgrade from snow leopard?? it was my understanding you could do that through this method???

The Install ESD.dmg is the recovery partition image. It is not meant to upgrade. To upgrade you must run the app from the App Store.
