I am using Aperture 2.1 and OSX 10.5.3 to manage my photos and .Mac Web Galleries.
I recently created some Albums but I am struggling to find a way to change my published Albums settings (display order, download rights, upload rights, etc) using Aperture.
I am aware you can do this with iPhoto.
But what about Aperture users?
Aperture does not seem to work the same way iPhoto does.
The drag&drop albums re-organization does not work, and moreover there is no Settings button in the bottom toolbar.
I contacted
Apple and I got an answer on the issue.
Unfortunately this is not what Aperture users would like to hear.
Despite the misleading Apple Hint "All the Web Gallery albums you create are listed in the Aperture's Projects inspector where you can make any changes you like.", the issue has been confirmed by an Apple Support Operator:
"I understand that you would like more control of your web galleries published from Aperture, like those in iPhoto.
Unfortunately that is not a feature of Aperture, an easy work around would be to import the photos you want to publish to iPhoto and then publish them."

This is not acceptable for a software that is sold for more than $ 200, while iPhoto can manage this for free.
Moreover, this issue makes Aperture not consistent at all with the whole iLife and Mobile Me concept.
As a matter of fact, professional photographers who use exclusively Aperture can't properly manage their web galleries.
Does anyone have some suggestions or work-arounds to re-order albums published with Aperture, without involving iPhoto at all?
Thanks in advance!
